Upekha Atupola is a PhD candidate and tutor at the University of Adelaide, specialising in sustainability accounting. His research focuses on corporate environmental reporting, the adoption of international sustainability disclosure standards, and their implications for emerging economies including Sri Lanka. He has published in A-grade academic journals, bringing rigorous, evidence-based insight into his teaching.
Upekha is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK, which informs his practical approach to sustainability accounting — connecting academic research with the real-world needs of finance professionals and senior management.
